The day we opened the doors to A Blissful Balance
The day we opened the doors to A Blissful Balance On Saturday 19th September, we officially opened the doors to our new home at 2 School Road in Wellesbourne. And what a day it was. When I first started A Blissful Balance, it was me, one treatment room and an idea of creating somewhere that felt a little different for women. I knew quite early on that I wanted it to become more than somewhere you simply came for a massage or facial. I wanted to create a space where women could find different kinds of support, meet other women, try something new, have some time for themselves or just feel comfortable walking through the door. Opening our new venue was a pretty big step towards making that happen. The doors opened at 11am… And before long, we had queues around the corner! I genuinely hadn’t expected quite so many people to come along. We welcomed so many familiar faces, lots of people discovering A Blissful Balance for the first time and — in a rare A Blissful Balance moment — even the men were allowed in for the day! 😂 There were drinks, mini treatments, local stallholders, gift bags, plenty of chatting and the opportunity to wander around the building and see what we’ve been creating. Most importantly, it felt relaxed, friendly and full of warmth — exactly how I wanted it to feel. More than just my treatment room One of the things I loved most about the launch was being able to show people that A Blissful Balance is no longer just about the treatments I offer. We now have five treatment and therapy rooms alongside our Blissful Studio, with a growing group of independent female practitioners offering different kinds of wellbeing support. That includes massage and holistic therapies, Reiki, mindfulness, hypnotherapy, health coaching, talking therapies and more, alongside classes, workshops, women’s circles and events in the studio. There isn’t one particular type of woman we’re trying to create this for. Women come through our doors at completely different stages of life and for completely different reasons — and that’s really the point. Supporting The Esther Project The day also gave us the opportunity to support The Esther Project, a local charity doing incredibly important work with women. Thanks to everyone who took part in our prize draw, we raised more than £350. That meant a huge amount to me. If A Blissful Balance is going to be a space centred around women, I want supporting other women in our wider community to be part of that too. A massive thank you to everyone who donated prizes, bought tickets and helped us raise such a brilliant amount. I definitely didn’t do it alone There are a lot of people behind a day like this. Our practitioners gave their time, offered mini treatments, talked to visitors about what they do and helped people feel welcome. Our stallholders brought even more to the day, Sarah from Take Time helped with the prize draw and gift bags, and Jude captured it all in the most beautiful photographs. And then there were all the people who helped behind the scenes in the weeks leading up to opening. Thank you. I couldn’t have done it without you. And thank you to everyone who came Whether you queued around the corner, had a treatment, bought something from one of our stallholders, entered the draw, had a glass of Prosecco, picked up a gift bag or simply came in for a nose around — thank you. Opening a new business premises is exciting, but it’s also a huge leap. Seeing so many people walk through those doors to support what we’re creating made all the hard work worthwhile. This is just the beginning Since the launch, things have continued to grow quickly. More practitioners are joining us, our treatment rooms are getting busier and the Blissful Studio is filling with classes, workshops, groups and events. And we’re still looking for the right women to join us. I’d particularly love to hear from practitioners working in areas such as acupuncture, Pilates, tai chi, specialist holistic skin treatments and talking therapies, as well as women with something a little different that they think would fit with what we’re creating. A Blissful Balance has changed enormously since I first started it. But the reason behind it hasn’t. It’s about creating a welcoming place for women to look after themselves — physically, emotionally and everything in between. On 19th September, I got to see that idea come to life. And we’re only just getting started. Karin x
